Simon Raby

Dr. Simon Raby serves as the Academic Director of Scaleup and Growth Programs and Associate Director for Mount Royal University’s Institute for Innovation and Entrepreneurship. In 2018, Simon founded Growth Compass to examine the drivers of growth in Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs) and has subsequently commercialized these evidence-based insights through programs like Growth Catalyst.

Known for his commitment to evidence-based practice and innovative approach Simon piloted and tested the Growth Catalyst program in 2020. His vision and expertise have been instrumental in designing the program’s curriculum, crafting content that resonates with business leaders, and facilitating key modules that help participants unlock significant new growth opportunities.

In addition to his work with Growth Catalyst, Simon is a Professor of Innovation and Entrepreneurship at the Bissett School of Business. Simon’s influence extends beyond academia, having spearheaded ScaleUp Week, an international festival focused on building community and celebrating the success of SMEs in Western Canada. Whether in the classroom, boardroom, or through his writing, Simon is passionate about helping individuals and organizations realize their full potential and achieve lasting success.
